The September Issue

"Fashion's not about looking back, it's about looking forward"- Anna Wintour, Editor in Chief Vogue, The September Issue documentary.
If you enjoy Vogue magazine and haven't seen The September Issue yet, you are missing out. Anna Wintour's decision making, Grace Codington's creativity, and the various editors' resilience are truly inspiring.

And speaking of inspiration, the way Anna Wintour wears her necklaces for daytime is both a throw back to days gone by as well as a nod to the future. Here is a photo of Anna wearing wearing her signature length necklace, in diamonds. We couldn't help but notice the similarities to the Cento Collection diamond necklace worn by Christy Turlington in the recent Roberto Coin ad campaign.
Perhaps fashion is really about looking back to look forward.

Harmony then, and harmony now

“Every woman has to find the melody to her own song. When she’s found it, she’s found herself. There is an intimate harmony between her inner and outer self, a harmony called style. The clothes must be forgotten and any impression that something is being worn must disappear. …and at night you can live the dream, amuse yourself, totally diversify. With simplicity, you add personality: makeup, choice hairstyle, different jewelry for night than you wear during the day."
- Emanuel Ungaro, Vogue Paris 1973
